Boy Scout Troop 234 welcomes all boys ages 11 and up, or who have completed 5th grade, or earned the Arrow of Light Award, and are not yet 18 years old. Our mission is to prepare our youth to become responsible and participating citizens and leaders guided by the Scout Oath and Law:
The Aims of the Scouting program are character development, citizenship training, and mental and personal fitness. These are achieved by the following methods: patrols, ideals, outdoor programs, advancement, association with adults, personal growth, leadership development, and uniform.
Troop 234 scouts use these methods and meet the scouting objectives in a fun and active environment. We like to go camping, hiking, backpacking, deep sea fishing, rock climbing, cave exploring, kayaking, whitewater rafting, educational trips, and so much more. We go on land, on water, to the mountains, to the desert, in the air, in snow, in the sun – we go everywhere! We also serve our community and honor our country with various service projects throughout the year.
All our activities are designed to meet our Troop Mission, “Every Scout an Outdoorsman, a Leader, a Mentor” where our scouts are learning by doing and having fun while doing it.
Since our original charter in 1951, Troop 234 has proudly developed 55 young men into Eagle Scouts.
