The Christian Service Program is made up of parish volunteers working together to reach out and provide assistance to individuals and families in the community. Support services include referrals, food, and intervention. The Program is headed by a Steering Committee and involves committed volunteers in specific areas. The Steering Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month to plan and review cases. This group is trained to receive and process requests for assistance. The group collects food once a month for distribution in the community. Food and gift boxes are prepared and distributed during the holidays.

The Christian Services Ministry is dedicated to reaching out and providing assistance throughout the year to individuals and families in our local community who are in need or experiencing a crisis.
Monetary donations enable the ministry to provide assistance with rents, utility payments, medical needs, etc. Gift cards for shoes, clothing, and household items are especially helpful.
The economic situation is causing an increase in those who turn to us for help. A gift of money now will be used to help us solve the problems of the needy in San Pedro through the coming months. We think you’ll agree this is a truly “Christian service” at this Christmas time.
Thank you for your ongoing support to enable our ministry to continue to serve those in need and to make our community a better place.
Sincerely,
Christian Service Ministry

It is that time of year again when the Christian Service Ministry together with the Outreach Food Program begin planning for the delivery of holiday food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas to local families in need. We are asking the Holy Trinity Parish Community to be especially generous by donating non-perishable food and toiletry items in the coming weeks that will help fill our food pantry. Bins for dropping off items are located at the back of the Church and near the Parish Center office for your convenience. Food and toiletry items are not just needed during the holiday season but all through the year. The Outreach Food Ministry, along with many volunteers, pack and deliver food each week to those families in need in the community who have been identified and referred by Christian Service. It is through the donations of food, toiletries, and monetary donations that both ministries are able to assist community families in need. So next time you are at the market and see a great deal on peanut butter, pasta, tuna, vegetables, etc. please pick up a few items and drop them off at one of the bins. If you are looking for a worthwhile and rewarding ministry in which to become involved, Christian Service or the Outreach Food Program may be the program for you. For more information on either program, please contact the Parish Center at 310-548-6535 for Gerry Marcia /Christian Service or Carla Emerson /Outreach Food Program.
