Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Council, San Pedro Service Unit
Girl Scout Promise
On my honor I will try
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout law.
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, earning Catholic Girl Scout religious medals, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
More than 59 million American women enjoyed Girl Scouting during their childhood – and that number continues to grow as Girl Scouts of the USA continues to inspire, challenge, and empower girls everywhere.
Adults interested in leading troops must be registered Girl Scouts. Additionally, the Los Angeles Archdiocese requires fingerprinting and Virtus: Protecting our Children training. Come join the large group of volunteers who work to better the lives of the girls in our parish, and watch it impact your life as well!
