Then RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is for you! Following Jesus Christ is a life-long journey that promises to have incredible, everlasting effects on your life. Find out who you are. Find out how much God loves you. Discover your purpose in life. Discover how to pray to God and be enlightened to the many blessings God is giving to you and will give you throughout your life.
Each year we welcome new members into our faith community at the Easter Vigil Mass and this is our greatest joy. The formation process that leads to this great event is what the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is all about. The rite is an open-end process of formation and education for those interested in learning about and experiencing the Catholic faith through Jesus Christ.
The RCIA process is designed for individuals who are not baptized; those baptized in other Christian traditions, and baptized Catholics who never received the Sacraments of Eucharist and or Confirmation. It is a faith journey that encourages people to broaden and deepen their prayer life; to know God through the scriptures; to come to know themselves more fully; to know, love and trust their Initiation community companions on the journey; and to actively participate in parish and community.
The ministry of sponsors calls for the desire and capacity to journey with the participants as they grow in their commitment to follow Jesus within the Catholic Church. They are loved into the Church by the team, sponsors and Christian community. The Sunday Scriptures are our basic source of teaching. Areas of Scripture; our beliefs from Jesus and the apostles; prayer; sacraments; morality; Christian service and more are covered.
You can join at any time throughout the year, yet new meetings begin in September, either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. This year classes begin on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
